Have you ever experienced lower back pain or urine leakage when laughing, sneezing, coughing, playing, running, weight-lifting, skating, etc?
 

Please join us for this fun and enlightening session about your pelvic floor… and get a better understanding of how to take care of your body and improve your quality of life!

Pelvic floor issues are a common problem, but they don't have to be! The pelvic floor is our foundation and it takes the brunt of our weight. HOWEVER, we can ALL have control of our pelvic floor, no matter what our age is.

At this seminar, you will:

- Learn about what your pelvic floor IS

- Learn about the myths and facts about pelvic floor health and how it relates not only to bladder control but also to sexual health, your ability to strengthen your core and your overall fitness level

- Learn how to test your own pelvic floor, how to fix pelvic floor issues, and how to progress your pelvic floor and core strength to maximize your fitness and reach your goals.

This event is for all women!

...including moms with embarrassing bladder issues, diastasis recti (abdominal separation), prolapse, painful intercourse, etc. Also, for all women who may be struggling to run as far or as fast as they want, and women feeling at a standstill in their weightlifting abilities.

To help people understand exactly what this powerful medicine does and how to use it, we are hosting a nutrition seminar at Training for Warriors Portland.

Whew! TFW Portland has worked up a good sweat all year long to raise money for the causes we believe in. But we're not done yet!
 

On Saturday, August 26th, come get a great butt-kicking workout and help support Levé and Girls Inc.

Levé is one part unconventional non-profit, one part inclusive sisterhood. We lift the Portland area by connecting local nonprofits to a new generation of advocates, who trust us to curate relevant causes to support year after year. We lift up our members by motivating one another, challenging ourselves, and embracing each other exactly as we are. Levé is more than a nonprofit, it’s a movement to inspire charitable habits.

This year, Levé is partnering with Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest. With a mission to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold, Girls Inc. has a vision for a more equitable society filled with empowered females.

Girls Inc. develops research-based, informal education programs that encourage girls to take risks and master physical, intellectual, and emotional challenges. Programs like Eureka! address math and science education, while other programs like Girls Council focus on leadership and engagement within the PNW community.

Fundraiser workout for the American Cancer Society- Relay for Life

TFW Portland is hosting a fundraiser workout on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017 to help support Team Butterflies of Hope, as they raise money for the American Cancer Society (ACS).

American Cancer Society Relay for Life

What is Relay for Life?

It’s the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society with over 4 million people in over 20 countries participating. We come together to celebrate cancer survivors and caregivers, remember those we’ve lost, and honor those who are currently fighting cancer. Cancer has touched many of us in some way, so we decided to fight back. At this 24-hour long event, Relay for Life, we will take turns walking around the track to raise money and awareness to help the ACS in their lifesaving mission.

Please join our team or make a donation. Saving lives from cancer starts one team, one participant, one dollar at a time. Your donations help fund groundbreaking cancer research, prevention and treatment, and crucial patient care programs.

You can contribute in several ways!

1. The fundraiser workout will be held Sat, July 22nd @ 11:00am.  

Where: TFW Portland, 1338 SE 6th Avenue. Street parking is available.

Cost: $20 minimum donation. Members of the team will speak about Relay for Life!

 

2. Come support Butterflies of Hope at the main event!

When: Sat, August 12th @ 10:00am to Sunday August 13th @ 10:00am

Where: Portland Christian School: 12425 NE San Rafael St.

Each team sets up a themed campsite at the event and continues their fundraising efforts by selling a variety of items. This money will count towards their team goal.

Fundraiser Workout for Right Brain Initiative, a program of the RACC

Shout out to everyone who contributed to fundraising campaigns- you have helped raise over $1100 this year for some amazing organizations! On Saturday, June 24th, come get a great butt-kicking workout and help support the Portland's Right Brain Initiative.

The Right Brain Initiative is here to help change the way kids learn in all Portland area schools. We open kids’ minds to new ways of learning that promote imagination, collaboration and discovery. We’re also community partners, engaging the arts community to help and empowering teachers to guide kids in new ways.

This year, nearly 27,500 students in 67 Portland metro schools in seven school districts are expressing, exploring, imagining, creating and using the full measure of their minds. We’re a program of the Regional Arts & Culture Council, but we engage the entire community, working arm-in-arm to create long-term, lasting change within our school systems.

Have you been wanting to level up on your bench press? OF COURSE YOU DO. TFW Portland is stoked to present a bench press clinic taught by none other than Adrian Larsen of Larsenpress!

There will be a presentation by Adrian on the bench press, followed by Q&A, and then practice using your newly learned bench press technique.

Adrian Larsen has been competing for over 20 years. In 2013, he broke the all-time record of the Raw World Record Bench Press with 585lbs, weighing 220lbs. He was born with dislocated hips and club feet and was once told he would never walk. Instead, he developed his own training style that led to his record lift of 585!
Adrian is the author of the Alpha Project bench press book, and co-host of the Alpha Project podcast.

TFW Portland's May Fundraiser Workout! Proceeds go to Causa Oregon

It takes all of our participation to shift a culture. Here at Training for Warriors Portland, we are going to lead the way. Our mission is to promote equality and fitness (sometimes at the same time!)

Thanks to everyone who have contributed to our fundraising campaigns. We have raised over $800 this year, benefitting causes we believe in, such as:

  • Southern Poverty Law Center
  • Sexual Assault Resource Center
  • Basic Rights Oregon

On Saturday May 20th, we are doing it again. Come get an ass-kicking workout AND give back to the causes you believe in. We will be donating all proceeds to Causa Oregon.

 

A little about Causa Oregon:

"Causa is Oregon’s Latino immigrant rights organization. Causa works to defend and advance immigrant rights by coordinating with local, state, and national coalitions and allies."

"Causa works to improve the lives of Latino immigrants and their families in Oregon through advocacy, coalition building, leadership development, and civic engagement. Latino immigrants and their families are the heart of Causa and inspire, implement, and champion our work."

SARC's mission is "to promote social justice by eliminating sexual violence in our community through education, support, and advocacy."

The workout is for all fitness levels. Even if you have not worked out in a while, you will leave sweating and smiling.

Stay for food and drink afterward! Feel free to bring a treat to share. The event is family and dog friendly, as usual!
