Keep your bod guessing! Training for Warriors Portland

Training yourself is an investment. Whether you're indoors or outdoors, doing strength training or any other type of conditioning, your time is your largest investment. Just like in business, you want to maximize your return on investment (RoI), in this case: your time. One way to ensure that you're not wasting any of your precious time while training is by varying your routine enough to provide your body with the best opportunity to adapt.

In our little gym in Portland Oregon, I'm constantly assessing my clients performance and ability.

In turn, they continually give me feedback on the quality of their experience. If an movement causes pain or discomfort, I change or modify that very day.

Even if a client is progressing well, I will still change the movements every 4-6 weeks. I will also change the variables (rest, tempo, intensity) every 30 days or so. This provides the body with a greater ability to adapt.

If you're on a P90X routine, you know the value of keeping your body guessing. I know folks who change routines every week. Change is good.

Whether you are trying to lose weight, get faster or stronger or all of the above, don't waste any of your training time by using an outdated program. Waking up in the morning and doing 100 pushups is great, but this isn't the 1950's Marine Corps. It's the 21st century here in Portland, so get connected and keep getting in better shape!
