Insulin is BIG at making you HUGE
It's easy to get lost in scientific jargon when talking about Insulin or hormones in general. Let's not do that!
What does insulin do?
Insulin does many things, one of which is promote inflammation. Inflammation is beginning to be understood as the gravitational pull of diseases like Alzheimers, heart disease, cancer and even the aging process. Increase your insulin sensitivity through exercise and a very clean, low glycemic diet. You can down-regulate cortisol and insulin, while up-regulating testosterone and growth hormone (these hormones repair damaged tissue, restore muscle tone, and even improve the elasticity of the skin).
Monitor yourself as you move through your fitness program. There are studies constantly being published on the efficacy of intermittent fasting, paleo or keto diets. You can do the research yourself, but I measure the results of my efforts on a weekly basis. Using the evidence I've seen at the office, I can say that you will begin feeling different by the end of your first week (which is coincidentally when you'll notice the fat melting off).
By following an healthy diet and complete exercise program, you will mitigate your risks for certain types of cancer, heart disease and Alzheimers, as well as look and feel your absolute best as the years progress. You don't have to be an expert in fitness or medicine to be in great shape and pain free. I have all kinds of free training and nutrition information on my blog.
