Do you believe you are a fragile being? Training for Warriors Portland
Coach Josh here from TFW Portland and I want to share with you a counterintuitive message that you might not have thought before.
Maybe YOU should get a job. Maybe you should get a job in a field you're not too certain about.
I was talking to a friend a few weeks ago and he said, "I just don't want to take the wrong job, I don't want to get involved in the wrong industry and get too far down the wrong path."
That sounds pretty legitimate, right? But I actually disagree with that.
YES, you do want to get the wrong job, date the wrong person, marry the wrong person and you want to know what it's like to be pretty far down the rabbit hole on something you don't know that much about right now. That will give you information. Those mistakes (if you want to call them mistakes) will teach you something about yourself, what you want, who you are and where you want to be.
Sometimes, you figure out where you want to be when you are somewhere you DON'T want to be. You can afford to start a business and have it fail. You can afford to date the wrong person for a long time and be miserable because you're not going to break because of a mistake. You're not that fragile.
You can commit to a goal, get halfway there (or almost all the way) and realize you don't want that goal anymore. Hell, you might even achieve goals that you no longer want.
I've done a lot of things that I realized I never wanted to do again after I completed them. I've run races, gained weight, lost weight, etc. I've done all sorts of crazy things to see what it felt like. What those achievements do, is they teach you about who you are and what you want. Now you have a taste of all these different palettes and flavors. You can now make more informed decisions about where to go with yourself and what to do.
You're not going to be made or broken by one decision, one mistake, or one failed attempt.
Do yourself a favor. Don't hold back.
Make some mistakes and figure out who you really are and what you really want. You might realize that you are not that fragile.
This is Coach Josh, encouraging you to get out there, play hard and make some mistakes... so that you can bring out the warrior within!
